model is looking good

Main thing I'd say though besides the ultra-powerful refraction on the windshield is that the wear seems uneven..there's some areas that are showroom fresh, and then areas that looks like they've been attacked with a metal grinder..also not in the areas you'd expect there to be scrapes and hits..should be more where it would hit the road, obstacles, or if he got into some fights, got dumped, etc. along the way. Also some stretching on the decals, and a couple missing?

The seat and tyres are working well, and hard to tell from this angle, but the proportions look good..just have to balance out the rest..of course that's IMO.

Would definitely be cool if you put kaneda on there..and then build the original clown leader, and.. :D

The texture on the foot boards looks really strange? It's been a while since I've seen the movie, so maybe that's the way it is, but right now it looks like you've got a lot of distortion, or a not very detailed texture map going on there?
I too agree, work on playing around with some different glass material settings and up the antialous setting. It looks a little pixelated.

It looks really good though so far. Are you going to make a rider?

Hypercube: The material of windshield is a standard glass with IOR of 1.5. (fallof reflection fresnel) In other scenes this material looks good but in this produces strange reflections! I'll change this soon.

Rhid13n: The distorsion of the foot board textures is caused by the blend material. The mask map is more detailed but maybe the blend material is not the good solution.

Thank so much!!! :buttrock:

Thanks. Yes I have see the problem. It's a blend material and stretching of the map (the Unwrap tool of 3dsmax is bad!!!):hmm:

Nice bike. :-) has some odd stretching going on. But I'm sure if you worked on it a bit more it could be done.

It'd be cool if you could get the bike to fire up like it does in the movie. I have both the original version (English voice over) on VHS and the recent digital revision of the movie on DVD. I like the voice overs on the VHS version much better. *sigh* lol I wish they could have put the option to have the original voice overs as a seperate audio track on the DVD. Oh well.. I gotta pop in that movie again now. :-)

I sleep now.

Coincidentally, I just watched this masterpiece again yesterday (cuz I just got my special edition box!!! :buttrock: ) Hard to believe it's already over 10 years old.

I find the model nice, but the body a bit too metallic/ glossy, since the original is cel.

Yes, the original is cel (i have the dvd and the manga) but i want to restyle the bike in semi-realistic shade.

Thanks for crits:bounce:

If you have some freetime i would die for a cellshaded rendering. oh damn a animation in cell would be so f*****g cool  .
But i can imagine your semi cell will be great as well......please WORK! Pleeeasse

I'm a modeler, no animator. Sorry. I'll work on a cell version but no animations (however my pc is too slow for this kind of work). If you want I can send you my file for the animation!!!

Bye

Why go with a Cel renderer? why not go the cheap boy route and have the materials have a specified falloff rate. That way you can play with that instead of cel rendering something.

I often attack red cannon scooters with a metal grinder. only because they've got a funny looking smily face on the front mudguard.

the scratches on the ridge heading down from the seat look very low res.. to add to the question of how they would have gotten there. but anyhow, its your show. whats a scanline render look like? just for comparison. im not into the brazil thing all round.

Nightfox: good idea, thanks!
Esperanto: it's free, for all, in our dreams.
Jet: i have just reply to the question of the bad texture in that part of model The reason is the unwrap map thta stretched the texture. I'll fix the problem when I have the time.

Thanks all.
