Not to sound like a salesman for Contour, but aside from my Wacom tablet, I find that this is the one tool I absolutely can't function without.

Oddly enough, it works extremely well for me in XSI. It has managed to work its way into the very core of my workflow not only for animation, but modeling as well. For instance, when in my modeling setup on the Shuttle, I use the jog to adjust my level of Sub-D. I can easily switch between modeling and animation setups on the Shuttle itself with the two black side buttons. So in animation, I can actually jog and shuttle, set key frames, activate marking sets, jump from key to key, etc.

If anyone wants me to share my setup, I will. Although the fact that you can easily program it to fit your flow is the nicest feature.

I'm done now.

Hey fwahh that would be great. Does the shuttle have a trackball or optical sensor to give it mouse functionality as well?

Thanks

Nope. Of course, I usually use it in conjunction with the mouse/pen.

Shuttle on left.

Keyboard in middle.

Wacom on right.

I'll upload my config in just a bit.

When I was at university a friend of mine managed a setup where he used a 16 channel midi mixing desk to pose his characters by using channels in Soft3D to connect to the various sliders on his characters. The buttons could also be used for keying etc. It was VERY cool... and very comfortable to use.

I've always meant to get round to setting one up myself.
