View Full Version : can't see my raytraced shadows?

hi everyone,

I'm working on my first lighting test in Maya. I'm trying to light a bunch of thumbtacks that I modeled. The problem is this:

I want to use ratrayced shadows, but I can't see any shadows. What am I missing? I'm sure I must be missing something tiny somewhere. Any indication of what that may be would be very appreciated.

two things i can think of straight off...

check you have raytraced shadows turned on under the light's attributes.

and turn raytracing on under render globals.

i don't think there is anything else you have to do.
