I don't mind the "Preview is Black when other application is open".
And I kind of like the "Preview records what I do in another app"
But what has bugged me for the last year or so is that the preview is actually one frame out through-out.

Yes I render with a frame count. But frame 20 in the preview is frame 19 in my max file. So it actually records the first frame as black. And doesn't record the last frame at all.

Any thoughts?
Oh... max 5 at the moment.

Your's first frame in the animation is marked as 0 frame :) so 20th frame in animation is actually marked as 19'th frame. ;D

But not always does my first frame start at zero.
Sorry... might have worded it wrong.

If my maxfile is 0-100.
The frame count generated on the preview is 0-100.
So far so good.
But the visual for frame0 is black.
The visual for frame 1 is frame zero... etc till the visual for frame 100 is my actual frame 99. Frame 100 is missing.

Same rule applies if my max file is from 32-102.

It is max that can't keep in sync when making a preview.
Does this not happen to anyone else?

Yep I just notice this in Max 5.1. When I make a preview, it adds one blank frame at the beginning of the file. The color of the frame depends on the viewport background color. It's pretty annoying especially if your doing a loop animation.

In Max 4.2, my previews there didn't have this problem.

I'm trying to figure out how to fix it, so if I'd appreciate any ideas.
