Hey guys, a long shot, but I'd thought I'd ask the best help there is....
At work they want me to export a Unigraphics model from one of our mechanical engineers into Max 6 and do a few cool renders
Now, UG can export 'stl' format and 'vrml' (amongst others, but these are the only ones, I think, that can be imported into max).
But here's my problem:
The models are HUGE in the way of poly's. We've messed around with 'Triangle tolerance' in the stl format, with little success. When in max, they are cumbersome to manipulate and do not smooth nicely.
Short of me modelling them again in max (waste of time) - is there anyone out there that has had any success with CAD designed models being imorted into MAX?
ANY help much apppreciated!
Thanks!
