View Full Version : My 2D demo reel
jchap03 02-17-2004, 06:31 PM Hi folks.
I wanted to take a sec to post the link to my demo reel.
You can view it here (http://www.jaredchapman.com/animation/demo-QT-big.mov)
It's 4.76MB. I'd appreciate any comments or thoughts you might have on it... plus I'd like to meet you. Thanks in advance.

Cool, I love the floppy tits on the old hag. That was great. More cleaned up animation would be nice but I know how long that can take and the motion is more important anyway. Good job.

Excellent! I'd love to be a 2D animator. 2 problems with that, though:
1) It's getting harder and harder to get a job in 2D animation
2) I can't draw that well.
I just got a light box to play with but I'm gonna stick with 3D, probably!
My only complaint about your reel is that there are times when characters just freeze. When they move, they're so animated and lively but then they just freeze. Otherwise, you have some great work in there! Good Luck!

Thanks Kiaran and Andini for your comments.
I know a couple of spots in my reel where the animation freezes b/c of 1.) the transition to the next clip or 2.) it was just a still hold in the clip instead of a moving hold (which I should have used).
The file could be giving problems too... I haven't looked at it in a while.
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks Acorn.
To answer your question, each clip was its own quicktime clip. I imported them into Premiere, put them together, and exported the whole project together. It was easy.
