Hey All,
I am experimenting with texturing right now and I have a question regarding specularity maps and file formats.
I am working in Maya and I wanted to know the best way of creating a specularity map ( I am also working in Photoshop ).
Once it is done which specularity attribute should I map it under in the material node.
Finally, which file format would be best to create bumps, color maps, etc.. if I am getting ready to output the model to tape.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks:shrug:

Hi, Toolrush! I'm not entirely sure if everyone would agree with me on this but, I think using .tiff or .targ would be your best bet for file formats in maya. Both tend to keep a great amount of detail in the image maps. I prefer using targas, but that's just me. Anyway, I hope that this helps.:)
