Finally started this illustration that I've been thinking about since Halloween last year, inspired by a costume. This is the base sketch that I'll be working with. Her right hand still needs some work (my reference photo was a bit blurred there) and I think the head is still too small in porportion to the body.

I've found that I tend to work in layers, even when I'm sketching....so the wings and the background are different drawings that I'll be working on today with the help of my light table. Then I'll scan the images and play with the compositing in Photoshop. I'm also planning on doing the color work in Photoshop.

C&C's are definitely welcomed!

Fixed the right hand and redid the imp's face to improve proportions. Added the horns, although I think that they might be too big. Started experimenting with the wings to see how that goes, but I won't make a final decision about them until I have a better version of the background (window seat) drawing.

I enjoy this picture simply because of the imagination I can tell

you put into.To have wings on a female characters back is one

thing(seems to be a common art hit now) But to have eagle like

feet is something out of the ordinary art.Nice work.

Did a bit of revision work on the wings last night, but didn't have the time to work on the background yesterday like I wanted to. I'll be doing that today instead.

This image contains the thumbnail (scaled and inset) that I did to layout the scene.

The background textures will give me the chance to do some stretching of my skills as I want to create a variety of different types of fabric for the cushions on the seat, velvet on the costume and two light sources (moon outside and lamp inside). This will be fun!
