And I'm sure you just invested the money in purchasing max 6 when you have no idea what rendering is.

When you BUY 3dsmax, it comes with tons of tutorials on everything from lighting and rendering to modeling and animating.
So IF you bought 3dsmax I would suggest you start with the included tutorials.

If one could navigate their way to discreet to download a trial, then navigating ones way to the help section of the software shouldn't be that hard.

give volt a break
post positive -i known people sculptors +painters ,master carpenters that didnt know 3d and have wanted to use
3d as an exploration tool ..but still know nada from the getgo.
So volt .......
you creat a model that is a wireframe representation of say
a box..simple ..add a texture....wood/glass/......
add lights to your scene...
then think of rendering as developing your film/model ..it
fine finishes your image.
you can make it very very sharp.or blurry and lots of other effects like glow......okay?

Rendering is making an image out of the geometry and lights and material in the 3d program.
To make it simpler, think of it as the computer making a painting of what it saw.
