This is a character I've been working on. I'm not sure if her proportions are correct, especially the size of her face in relation to her head and the size of her head in relation to the body. I think it's ok, but I'm not sure....been staring at it too long.

I don't see any mistake on her face but in her arm...I think that it's too long ... am I wrong? maybe with inking it will look better!

And her arm is too long.

I have a tip for you, that I sometimes use if I have worked too long at something and I'm getting a bit "blind" to it:
look at it by using a mirror (or in photoshop: flip horizontal ;) ).
It makes you look at your work in a different way, and usually you can see in 1 sec. what's wrong with it.

Good luck.

This is a very important comment for everyone, as an animator I even watch entire pencil tests backwards too, its odd how it works, but you always tend to be off on one side or the other and as soon as you flip it you see the mistakes like that. I remeber when I frst learned this I couldn't believe my eyes, it was so weird almost all my sketches the further arm was too long, as soon as I started looking at them reversed on my light table they were all wrong and I never knew.

Kaiskai: Do you mean on both arms? or just the extended arm?
If I can get it looking right, I plan on putting her in a background that I posted here awhile back. Thanks a lot for the speedy reply
:D

hmm well I did some measurng, and they are about the same length and the front one doesn't bother me as much, something about that back upper arm just seems too long, maybe a smidgen, but its not that bad

as for speedy replies, I need the quick breaks while I'm doing all this masking and such for painting BG's.

looking good....although i think she'd be quite intimidating if she were wearing a metal bikini....fighting a giant scorpion....with my head on top of the body.

sorry. don't mean to be cocky. just had to let you know it was me.

keeping tabs on you now, girlie! maybe if i get off my lazy ass i'll attempt something for you to tear to shreds on here.
