It's value really depends on how much you know. If you are a beginner, then this thing is the shiznat and will teach you things that took me forever to learn by trial and error and from reading in books. If you are an intermediate level like me, then, honestly, you'll only get a few things out of it.

However, those few things are very important to me. I remember ages ago a CG friend told me "even if you only learn one thing it's worth the cost, because that one thing can totally change the way you animate" and that's absolutely true for me here.

Check this for the specs: http://jefflew.com/dvd_specs.html

First part is very basic s/w stuff, nothing to learn here if you know your program. Second part covers the rules of 2d animation and how to apply them to 3d. Not bad, but only a couple of cool things in there that I hadn't book-learned previously. Third part was the best for me because you can watch him go through a whole animation. Have you ever wished you could spend a day with a pro animator to see how they do it? Well, this is your chance. This enabled me to animate much more quickly and efficiently.

I still rewatch the second part now and then though because I think it's important to constantly remind yourself of the fundamentals, it helps you analyze the stuff you've already done (like, hmm, should check that last scene for anticipation and silhouettes).

At this price it's nearly half the cost of ordering it from his site (in USD anyway). Why am I selling it? I put an ad in the local paper looking for people to form an animation support group, and found a guy who had already purchased it. So I watched it with him and when mine came in, figured I may as well sell it since it ended up costing me a fortune because of the exchange and exorbitant shipping ($110 Canadian!!!.....Canadians always get screwed). Are you in the States? I'm not sure what it will cost to ship it there. I think 5 bucks USD will pretty much cover it.

I assume you mean 64 USD? How exactly did you manage that? It's 70 USD right on his web page (although I see now there's a 5 dollar charge for US shipping, don't think he had that before). That's 93.50 Canadian with the current exchange. I ordered the DVD not long after it came out, shipping was 20 bucks USD and the exchange at the time was almost 1.5.

It's a good deal. I'm surprised nobody's even made me an offer. Guess everybody here who wanted it already got it.
