Hey everybody! I've been watching the challenges over the last few months and they've been really cool. I wanted to enter this one, but I didn't know how much time I'd have so I didn't post any WIPs(didn't want to get halfway through it and then have to just quit with everyone watching) Anyway, I got far enough on my image that I think it's worth showing but I'm waiting on it to finish rendering. Do I have until midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow night to get something submitted? Thanks!

Ok, here are some pics. First is a small version of the render and then a screenshot of the final scene in XSI. The large version of the render is here:

I guess it's a bit late, but you don't have a forrest. Your pic is a home under a tree. It almost looks like its in a field by a stream more than a forrest. Sorry if it seems harsh, I'm just trying to be blunt and honest in the hopes that maybe you can get some more trees in there before the challenge is over.

I really like the stuff you have so far though. I love the light coming through the cracks around the door that looks great.

I just read the Lord of the Rings ( felowship of the rings )
and there is a part before the grave hills with bombadil, the part that they fall asleap under the tree at a side of a stream and that the tree start consumng SAM ( if I'm wright) then Tom bambodil saves them with his song ( ain't sure if I wrote Bambodil wright) In my fantasy I imagined his house just as you made yours, Really cool:cool:.
My only sidgestion is that you could ad a small stream in the front of his house and that there is a small bridge of a half a meater which crosses the stream to get to the door. just a stream of a half a meater. 0.5M.
Maaybe this is just to make my fantasy of tom bambodils house complete, but what the heck I like my idea:)

Cheers

I really like the lighting coming through the door - very nice! The textures on the trees work well too.

As an image I'd say that it's still missing one or two things - but to be honest, if you picked out some more detail with some rim lighting on the trees themselves, that wouldn't matter.

It's a real shame you didn't post your WIP's - one of the biggest benefits is getting great feedback/ideas as you go.

Thanks for the replies! Iguiniz.X., I had actually wanted to put a stream out in front. I may have to change up the camera angle a bit for it to be visible. I also want to make the environment look a little more "lived in". Anyway, thanks for the comments. Hopefully I can get an earlier start on next months challenge and do this thing properly. Lata'!
