I'm not aiming for a 100% correct reproduction of every deckdetail and such - but of course I want it to look good - what do you think?

And Jason Junior, the remote controlled sub which took some amazing photographs.

Hi There,

Did you see John Cameron IMAX movie on the Titanic, showing alot of very good images from the ship.

Is there away you could show more of the ship with more light, just to show the model, the way you did the wrek.

Nice work overall.

From what I can make out it looks great. But it's so dark that it's hard to point out any errors.

water debris and floating things dust stuff?...dunno...a recognisable light source...eg so you can tell junior thing is lighting it..as at this depth no light one presumes...all that said..it looks great.

Once Jason is in the scene it will provide the main lightsource. The lighting on the wreck is only a temporary one. Hopefully I can increase the feeling of bigness with the lighting.
Floating particles in the water will also be added. Although I'm not quite sure if I should do them with a real particle system in cinema or add them in post.

Cool and unusual idea! As stated above, it's a bit hard to point out any particular flaws, but aside from the scale problem it's looking very good so far. And if you're going for realism, there really is no way out of the fact that even the final product has to be rather dark and hard to read somehow.

Keep churning...

Looks promising!

Its gonna be hard to get that oceany "fuzz" - the debris and wierd luminant things that swim about..

Keep at it!

You could do them with the real particle systems but could be a big work on the rendering parts. Could be more real than post production.

Looking great!

Deep underwater lighting is so hard, especially the environment and fogging.

Keep it up!

Looks great!

There seems to be another light source besides the visible sub. Is the other light source in the imaginary sub that has taken this picture? If so, the shadows don't seem to be quite correct..

If the other light source is yet another sub, I'd like to see that sub as well. :)

Anyways, really great environment!

Its coming along to be great one.

I agree with the lighting condition, but you said you put a light for the moment i hope. Because at the depth the Titanic his, no light gets there.

Anyway, hope to see more soon.

Some small changes. The additional light is indeed supposed to come from the sub you "are sitting in". I changed the possition to match the shadows a bit better.
Now I'm not sure what else to change or make better. Somehow I'm not quite satisfied with it but I don't know what to do about that...

Hmm... Looks very good indeed! I have to say I can't think of anything in particular to tweak either... The only thing to do would be digging up some more reference pics and see if there's something you've overlooked - - - some fish maybe? Then again there isn't much fish at those depths... I initially thought some more color would be a good idea, but I changed my mind into considering that this is pretty close to reality, without a lot of color.

I could simply say: Great job!

Is the wreck textured at all yet? Needs color, rust and such
