View Full Version : Merging halves using CPS
I tried using CPS tools as suggested earlier from someone and i got the side all nicely tweeked. I wanted to merge the 2 sides so that i can have a single polygon mesh, but even with stich connected, it still has the separate CpsBase and CpsProxy.
If i try deleting the proxy layer, i am merly left with a half wireframe.
So what is the alternative to getting that wireframe back to a shaded model?
Thanks!

When I've finished i just delete the two smoothed halves. Then duplicate the unsmoothed, combine polygons and merge vertices.
To get it back into a shaded model you can either put it in a new layer, or you can tick the "shaded" check box in the attribute editor of the connectPolyShape layer.
Thanks!
Yea, all i needed to do was put it in a new layer. Why is it like that though, why would moving an object to a new layer make it shaded?

Because CPS creates a new layer with the shading attribute turned off. It then sticks the base mesh in that layer, so all you see is the wireframe.
You can right click on that layer and select Layer Attributes and turn shading back on if you want.

Or...
Delete the smooth, use CPS to mirror/stitch the cage with smoothing off and delete history on the result. Doink!
