At a basic level, do these 2 scripts do the same thing?
Is one better than the other?
Does it make any sense to use Texporter when Unwrap UVW is already in 3DSmax 4?
Any tips and comments will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Turn off backface cull and mark overlaps in texporter and you'll save yourself the trouble of making 2 maps.

Sometimes the occasional flipped normals are caused by excessive mirroring, in any case, you can reset them by using the 'reset xform' utility.

texporter is nicer becuase you can export large maps IMO. Its easier to paint on and it saves the trouble of not having to deal with low rez screen captures...

oh and BTW texporter only exports the texture AFAIK. you still need to use uvp map or unwarp to uv your meshes....
