View Full Version : industry standard game character rigs and controls
Magicman49 02-11-2004, 07:00 PM Hi
Does anyone know if there are any industry standard game character rigs and controls? Surely reverse foot is obvious, but what about the rest?
If anyone knows of any online articles or information about this, please post a link.
Thanks

Not really.. anything goes.
Actually, we don't even use a fancy reverse foot.. just a null that is at the ankle and the nkle is constrained back to it.. very simple..
As far as other rigs on top of it.. sometimes we do sometimes we don't..
In the end for most games, the bones are backed, so it doesn't matter what you use... only the bones go through the pipeline so anything that you built on top of it is discarded.
I've seen pretty fancy rigs with controllers and very very simple rigs... with pretty much nothing on them...
Whatever works for you
