Hi All-

Here is some action of a farmer juggling his animals. This is part of my next animated short.

I am at a point where some feedback would be great. Thanx!

Good start.

The biggest problems that I can see right now is....

The animals appear to have no weight whatsoever. I know this is animation, but I still expect these animals to have believable weight. Not realistic, but believable. Right now they look as if they are made out of hollow plastic. This animation in particular would be an excellent way to show that you understand the physics of how a character handles weight.

Ways to fix this...

1. Have the animals hit harder when they are caught. They seem to lose alot of thier momentum once they land in the farmer's hand. They should continue on thier path downwards, and the farmer's hands should get dragged down by them until his muscular strength overcomes the force of gravity

2. If you have a skelton inside the animals, flex thier spines downwards as they near the bottom of thier arc. Flex them upwards just after they have passed the pinnacle.

3. He doesn't really look like he is psuhing the animals up into the air. The cow especially seems to float off of his hand on the push.

4. The Y trans keys (up and down) you have set on the root (pelvis) of the farmer do not relate to the mass of the animal he is throwing/catching. The cow should push him down the fathest, and should require him to move upwards the most, follwed by the pig. The chicken should have almost no effect on this movement.

5. try keying his side-to-side motion so his root travels in a circle that relates to the pattern of movement you've established.

Aside from that, not bad. Keep it up!!!

Cheers,

Greg

Here is an update on my juggling act. A lot of weight has been added. People who have looked @ this are saying that it is strange that he is jumping as he is throwing the cow up in air. Does anyone else find this strange?

I did this because if you were to heave a heavy object into the air with one arm, you would extend your legs and at the same time your arm is extended straight out. As soon as you start to throw the heavy object, your hips come down and your arms go up. I made my juggling guy jump to exagerate the up, but is it too much?
