CGTalk - maya render globals

I hope some one can help me here. I've been using maya for a while but now all of a sudden when i try to open the RENDER GLOBALS, it opens the window but its completely empty, and this message comes up in the script editor.
// Error: Object not found: fileName //
does anyone know why it does this? any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Enable Stack Trace in the script window, try to open the Render Globals again and post the resulting error.

Also, your prefs may be wacked. You might just try chucking the prefs and restarting.
