I first put this thread in general discussion, but I was pointed out that this may also be a suitable place to share my humble tutorial :)
Reproducing Image Noise Tutorial (http://www.hesido.com/tutorials/reproducingnoisetutorial.html)
I used photoshop but the technique could be used with other packages, and maybe even motion video if your product supports similar layering to photoshop (e.g. you can put the image noise on cg elements that you add later to the video, or stills)
It is probable that this is nothing new for some of you, but it is also possible that this may give some of you fresh ideas.
