Try Here (http://maxon-computer.com/deepshade/shader/shaders/water/ix_wat1.html) for your water shader...

you can also solve that problem with the inbuilt shaders, especially in 8.5 a very easy way.

Simply put a watershader in the colourshader and relief. Add a fresnel in transparency (invert the colours) and a fresnel in the reflection channel (default values). Ready!
Animation of the "waves" is achieved via frequency parameter in the watershader.
you can also simulate drops falling into the water causing concentrical waves. Just multiply the watershader in the reliefchannel via layershader with a waveshader. In the waveshader set the object on which surface the ripples occour (the watersurface) and set also the ripplecausing object (the particlesystem which emitts the drops.
Hope that helps.:)

i saw a great method shademaster did...which was basically.
standard water shader in reflection(90%) and transparency(85%) i think...refraction of 1.333
then important bit..hdri in environment...he pushed it up to 300%...but with 8.5 just put it in a filter and adjust gamma setting.

all credit goes to Shademaster for that...if you wanna see the hdri thread where he mentioned what he did etc..

that said i'm gonna give tonfarbens method a whirl...and see how i get one...cheers bud..
