View Full Version : Lowpoly vehicle: Renault AG 8 CV
bibi5000 02-06-2004, 11:30 AM This is a low poly Model done for the Battlefield mod Battlefield 1918 (http://battlefield1918.ngz-network.de/news/?sct=english) .
The polycount all together with wheels and steering wheel is 4038 triangles, it has two 1024 and one 512 maps.
This AG 8 CV was used as taxi in Paris around 1915. During the first World War the taxis were recruited to transport troops in the battle of Marne.
I would be glad to get some feedback :)

Nice and clean mesh. Like it.
The only thing i think would need some improvement is the polycount around the wheel axis. Spend polys on large parts an saveŽem on the small ones :) Suggestions where you could get those polys from:
http://www.shoosh.de/bonsai/renault_wire_savepoly.jpg
1: Guess you wont see much of a difference, when you just put one polystrip along the broadside of the hood instead of 4.
2: Does the dashboard need so many polys ?
3: I would get rid of the bevel here and make those highlights via texture work.
4: Save some polys by not using so many divisions around the contour of the wheel ( hope you know what i mean )
Anyway, nice and solid work.

Looks excellent dude, and would love to see these in game!
But like has been said, try and get the wheels alittle more round if possible, i am sure you can find some poly's from somewhere! lol
