View Full Version : Vehicle: (Celica st205 GT4 WRC)
Refracted 06-28-2002, 12:27 AM Hey everyone!
I've posted this car before, but the windows were all tinted since i hadn't modeled the inside yet. Well, i've finished the inside for now, and re-rendered it with brazil (beta). It uses 4 shaders that come with it, Glass, Chrome, Velvet and CarPaint(the effect of this shader is a bit subtle though, i have more dramatic examples, but i dont think this site has enough bandwidth to show them all :) ) Also.. the wheels seem to "float" a bit, i know, i need to find a better way to fake a constrained skylight (so that it doesn't illuminate till the horizon... hmm.. maybe using a black fog.. i might have an update to this pic soon ;) ).
crits and stuff welcome

 very good work. just for me, the shadow is a bit too sharp.
One newbie question: How do you map / model the Front Light? It looks brilliant.

image rendered in brazil V1.0.0 (yes, it's finally out) using 5 of it's shaders (default, carpaint, velvet, glass and chrome), it's camera (slightly spherical for a more natural effect) and area lights..

Yea, dude!!! This kicks ass, cept for on thing....The seams. They just arent sharp enough. It gives it a slight bubbly feel taking away from the realism. And, i too, would like to know how u did headlights.

Hi
I wonder if any of you believe in the Open source Policy ?
Come on guys new-wanna-be like me want to see some files to know how did you make it , I mean if you can post the source for your work as well that would be really nice , kind , wonderful , great , etc .... thing to do , you do not have to post complecated hard core work that you spent the last 365day of your life working on , simple ones only :) :wavey:

i think nash is asking if the people here belive in the idea of sharing models with n00bs so they can learn how to model and all that jazz.

heh, sorry dmonk.. this one falls in the category of "complecated hard core work that you spent the last 365day of your life working on" .. though i didn't take a year on it, i did work on it a long time.. maybe if i do something simpler in the future i'll post it..

Um share your files? Yeah right, with all the people taking credit for other peoples work these days? Read some tutorials... we all have to work to get to this level.:wip:

Nice job man, I have to show my brother this celica render, it's one of his favorite cars. Right now he's driving a 1991 celica all trac turbo.
Anyways,
I have some input for your model.
You know how all car windows have the black surrounding factory shround tint (black borders that gradually fade out to dots), your car seems to be missing that.
Maybe if you modeled or textured those parts of the windows it could create more depth and realism to the windows and add to the overall look.
I hope you know what I am talking about!
Just a thought.
good work!!
