Tried to take all the advice I got from my last post
and put it to good use. Here goes:

Finished Barrel Jump (http://home.teleport.com/~cdh_video2/barrel-512x-new2.mov)

Quicktime 2.0mb

Concentrated on the weight and hand placement.
Also tried to add a bit more personality to the
character. Added GI and some texture.

Not perfect I know, but let me know what you all think.

Thanks again.

i think the movement is ok, the face animation looks good too, maybe if u add some movement to the barrel, u know like if it is going to fall cos the weight of the character, u know out of balance, great animation anyway...

Good update, definitly better than before. The look of the whole animation is more appealing now too.
His hand movement when jumping on the barrel is nice.

However, when he falls down at the beginning, you still can't feel his weight and when he walks too.
My advice: Exaggerate it, exaggerate it A LOT, just to see the diffrence. When ever you're not sure if an effect is strong enough, exaggerate it.

The fall is weak, try differnt spacing from the air position to the squat position.

Getting on the barrel is ok, but it needs to have some movement.

visit my website, I have an animation similar to that first part in your animation. take a look, perhaps it will be helpful.

Also try going back to basics and do a "Bouncing ball" animation.
