The face looks good. I think there are some issues goin on in his armpit. The form looks odd in that area, and might not deform properly.
I think you should invest some more geometry into the fingers..at least the finger tips to get them a big more rounded. They are coming off as boxy.
I like his shoulder piece, I think thats cool. Im picturing this guy with some sort of cape with a huge fastener thing in the front on his chest...
His waist looks a little too low.
This is cool.. I was planning on doing soem sort of mecha/futuristicy Mage... this also seems like its taking the mage idea and going a bit further.
Keep us posted.
What about some sort of wand? or staff?

If you're going for realistic, the head is way too small. The shoulders should be three heads wide... yours are more like 4. It would be nice to see more definition of the cloth where the hood meets the head. Right now it looks like it's made of spandex, you could make it fall more loosely. I really like the skulls on the shoulders and the feet. Good job on the hands too.

Looks great although it needs a few important proportion tweaks. If you want him to be tall, his legs and upper torso need to be thinner, they are way too thick. If he is a short character, his head needs to be bigger. Right now he is neither. Cant wait to see it once you make a few fixes!
*Edit: I think hes waist is alittle low too (if hes not a dwarf) His torso is way too long right now.

there are a few problems that i see right away. first of all the head is amazingly tiny compared to the rest of his body. secondly his legs are way too short, and his torso is way to long.
sorry, just pointing out the anatomy incorrections i see. you might try some anatomy referance..

yeah, looks cool but definitely some anatomical issues. Most people have hit on it already though. Definitely bring his waist up more. The wrist should be right about at crotch level with the hands just below. That should make his legs look longer too as it wiíll stetch them a bit more. But the legs definitely need some lengthening as well.
I personally think his upper body is ok as itís thick like the arms, but the head definitely needs to be a lot bigger to match it. And I think if you bring the waist up some, then the arms should be ok as far as length.
Canít wait to see more progress!

Cool thanks for the replies :) I made his head a bit bigger, and am tweaking his body a bit. Did any of you get that his pants are super baggy? The crotch of the pants is supposed to be about at knee level.... I dunno if this is coming through as strong as I would like it to. Maybe i'll make it blatant and make the pants end around his shins, but in any case it'll look better with a complementry texture. As for the wires I'll post some soon but I'm in the middle of installing XP (yay! die 2000 die!)
Thanks, y'all rock!

Hey Quick Update(just went through reformat hell...)
Just for reference, the pants are supposed to look somethign like this(not exactly of course):
And the concept(note the tiny head :D)
Ancient Pig: goin with a twisted gnarled wooden staff, check out he concept :)
Pyraxis,: I think it's liek 3.5 heads wide now... eh, I want him to look huge. A lot of the clothe definition will be textured, I may throw in a little more wrinkle action though. thx for the complement on the hands.
Feesh, big D, Da rock21: better?
mmhnemo:Uhhh... thanks, but I don't want him to look at all like your paintover :P
Thanks for the feedback! any other sugestions?

Then go your way and dont :p me. I just tried to help you with your proportions.
he looks kind of like a rapper...and not a mage
but thats just my opinion
maybe its the baggy pants and skintight hoody

i still think the waist is way too low. i think the paintover had it closer. if you want an unusually small head keep it that way. but other than that i still think he needs proportion work

finaly admited I have tiny head syndrome (pun intended..)
