ah! kay-kay is back,
You going off from your low-poly look? ;) Moon and materials look good. Character looks good, although I would add a nice specular to the glass (a square cartoony one, or soap bell kind). Not sure about his head though, could be more "exotic" maybe. Maybe show a profile or 3/4 shot. Stars could be better also. looking forward seeing it in motion!

Ah, thanx.
It's a colaboration project, so that's why it's not all square and stuff. Thanx for noticing :)
Good point about the stars, I will do something about those when it's rendering time. Same for the specular, I allready changed the material of the glass because the line is just a but dull. Good tips, keep 'm comming.
I'm working on the animation, but it's not going very fast...
Thanx again for the comments.

Glad to see some work of you again,
As for comments,
I love the plasteline feeling on the soft parts of the char...
What about some color variation/contrast, think of the chest thing as red with strong simple reflection...
I´m definetly for the specular idea of roman on the bubble, that and the thin silhoutte could look cool
And some pointy-triangle ears on top of that head? that could help to add some more to the head...
From curiosity,
Location:Spain, Hows that? vacation or moving into the sunny side?
Keep showing us pls...

Thanks!
I was planning some more texture detail on the character, but I'm having some problems with changing the UV's and stuff after the model allready has been rigged. I found several solutions to the problem but it will have to wait until after I finish the animation.
Reflective space suit? Yeah, I was thinking about a hammered chrome velvet mix style when I started... we'll see.
Spain? Yeah, I was planning to move there when I registered here. Unfortunatly the job in Granada didn't happen so I'm not actually in Spain at the moment... I'll get there eventualy tho :)

I like the cheese earting grin on his face. I agree that the stars need work. I do alot of space stuff for work and something ive noticed that make stars more realistic is makin some tiny specks with noglow and then some a little larger with a litte glow. And you want to push it some more the throw a little yellow blue or red in the dim stars (not very much).
Cheers!

At the moment the stars are 2d, just a little photoshop noise :)
How do you go about making 3d stars LuWeeWu?

Here's a little update, it has improved a bit I think. It's a frame from the animation (which is allmost finished), I gues it looks a bit weird as a still.
I haven't been able to get the specualr square on the helmet yet, the method I tried looked nice in a still but it's location was odd when the character moves around. So that's off the menu. The stars in the background might change as well, I asume they're too small to be visible (without jittering) on a tv.
Shoot with the comment :)

All looks way more solid now, looking forward to the animation, anymore characters involved?

Yeah, the moon is a bit overlit... hmm...
There's no other characters, but there is a sandwich .. and it's EVIL !:)

ahkewl, a sandwich to take over the WORLD!! hmmm,.. moon!
How long is it, the short?
Moon looks good to me though (in the new image), should be abit overlit.

Looks interesting this. Good stylized models. I guess I dont have that much crit-wise to add, most of it has been taken up already.
I would suggest to make the stars larger though, will jitter like hell that on a normal TV.
A suggestion for your window highlight would be to use a normal texture projection and link that to the angle of the camera.

Stars larger, noted. Maybe I should add some more variation in size aswell. Hmmm....
I've tried the projected speculatr square thing, or something similar. It works, but it isn't pretty.
I'll add a link to your site from my site Roman, you got some cool shit!

It should be finished around end of April/beginning of May. Of course then I still have to do them music and the sound effects.
I'll let you know when there's more.
