View Full Version : Adding joints to smooth bind

So this maybe a question that has already been answered in a previous thread, but here goes. So I am trying to add some joints to a chracter that already has been skinned using smooth bind and weighted. Is there anyway to add a joint, re-bind the skin and still keep my previous weights relatively the same? Or do I have to start skinning and weighting all over from scatch if I truly need to add in more joints? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can add the extra joint as an influence object, using lock weights at 0. Look in the docs for more on this if you have questions.
