View Full Version : Delete Points from mesh?
adam|zeliasz 01-31-2004, 02:14 AM I have a full mesh, and I want to delete everything except for the hand. I use the edge tool and select everything I want to delete, and then I go in with the polygon select tool and delete what’s left. The only problem is when I switch to point mode I have scattered vertices where the model use to be. I select them, hit the delete key but they wont delete. Any suggestions?

Are you working with imported .OBJ files ? I'v seen this issue when i'm working with poorly encoded obj files that seem to corrupt the points like this.
Easiest solution is to select all the offending points (or select the points of the hand, and invert selection), and do a Modify-->Poly Mesh-->Collapse Component.

scattered points eh. use CTRL+Del to collapse and delete the points, this should work, if not, from what i am understanding how you are doing this. you should just delete polys alone. not edges nor points. polys take them with it
