Well as wierd as it is for myself, I haven't done one before.
Maybe because there are a lot of amazing cars alrdy done and I didn't feel like repeating others.
However then I finally built up my guts and started on the Ford Focus 03 WRC last night, which I believe is a bit more original choice aswell, although prolly not the easiest.
And it would also gives me a chance to familiarilize myself with splines.
So I started by collecting reference for a few hours and then studying it. Even considering myself a pretty extreme wrc fan I found quite a lot there which I hadn't noticed before.
Just gotta love the educative side of it all.
Anyways here's what I got so far
Now as this is my first real attempt with splines(lazy me always the box) I expect to be doing atleast some stuff wrong.
So all advice and suggestions are welcome.
Oh and for comparison here's a shot from last years finland race where Markko Märtin did some amazing jumps (wrc pimpage)
Should I add more detail ?
I guess the next step would be patching, unless I need to fix something that would be what I'll start with tomorrow then.
Hopefully I can also finish this one.

Check out lewis's car tutorial, its an excellent guide to spline modelling a car, which reminds me I need to finish mine.

Yah that tutorial is excellent, I remember checking it out once but didnt get far.

Did you get stuck at a part in the tut ? The guys at lwg are pretty helpfull if you run into problems.

My today's progress is below, not as much as I hoped, I did a lot of weightshading to get some parts less roundy, bring out some features, made the places where the head and tail lights will go, added the windows, i guess I still need to move around quite a lot of points for some areas are too bumpy.
but overall I yah I am doing quite fine for my first car :D

Now with wheels, what a polyhog.
Also did a mirror test to see how it looks overall, one side is around 28 000 polygons currently, whereas wheels take 25k of it, I guess the modeled tire pattern is nice and all but its rather too much, so I might delete it later.

HI Raptor !
Your splines look great, you've did great job there but something went worng when you started patching certian ares. You have too many bumps and dents in few areas. It's ok for fist car but if you wish to improve it you need to decrease polygon rows in some areas. For instance why do you have so many rows in side skirts ?
Also point weghting isn't good choce for such SubDs model and that's also adding to car bumpynes. You could check my tutorial at LWG to see how to solve too round corners and get sharper ones, it's explained there :).

Thanks for the advice lewis, I know about your car tut since it was released I think, It's completely excellent, I even remember starting it once but didnt get far then, busy and the usual stuff.
I will certainly look into fixing this bumpiness (too many segments is mainly caused by sloppy bandsawing btw)
But I'll do that during the final touch ups prolly, may actually help to get a worn out look that I might eventually want for it.
Anyways latest progress.
I went a bit too far here considering how little of this is actually visible with the tire blocking most of it. But it was surprisingly fun to make :)
And the quick mirror test with all the stuff turned on

Ok well after lots of additional work, sume useful some not so useful but still fun.
I have pretty much completed it.
I am very happy with and it was a very nice experience as well as tons of fun.
Still need to uv map and texture it though, but atleast I can start doing something with it alrdy.
The polycount is around 70k, reduced around 30k by simplifying some geometry(deleting wheel treadmarks and also removing lots from the suspension which aint very visible anyways)
