In case you haven't heard, the Spirit rover is on its way to a full recovery. Apparently, it simply had a software problem involving its flash memory, but the hardware itself appears to be fine. It's already returned to examining the Adirondack rock (volcanic) and is getting ready to examine 2 other rocks called "Cake" and "Blanco". And, yes, it's sending new pics back, of course.
Great, great news; perhaps, it will get to those nearby hills yet!
