View Full Version : Expose II entries
raycerx 01-30-2004, 05:20 PM Just curious.... how many of you folks posted up an Expose II entry (which I assume was created in Cinema 4D; in part or in whole). There were several last time and I was hoping more would get in this year. Thanks, and if you did, good luck!

Well, I submitted my Alienware entry... Since I had gone through the trouble of making it print resolution and all - I thought "why not?"

Well I submitted and entry to Expose 2, but I highly doubt it will be accepted.

hey hey know, dont want to hear that kinda talk.... arts tough man, because, for it to exist, it needs an audience. So even though its nerve racking sometimes to 'show' yer stuff, its better than never trying at all. Sorry for the lecture, but being a former Architectural student, I know first hand what its like to hang your work on the wall and get it ripped apart... dont sweat it glad to hear you entered...- James- looks cool, really love the colors and the structure thingy, looks like a crazed rollercoaster....

It sure would be pretty amazing to get an entry in there - but I'm trying to be realistic about it: there's a limited number of pages, and the quality of the accept-worthy entries... whew!
Well, there's lots of insanely good stuff out there.
I'm totally screwed :D

Yay! I'd almost forgotten about that mug - but I'd rather have those used tissues :D You think they hand out those for rejected Exposé entries as well?

You have no idea, man...
Right now I'm working on a new thing - conceptually it's like the best idea I've had for a very long time, but I'm stuck sketching very simple blocked composition tests...
But I can't seem to make the layout look promising - and I've pretty much figured out that if a very basic blocked sketch doesn't "do it for me", then the finished piece won't be particularly great either... The only good thing so far is that I seem to have discovered a way to discard stuff even before actually having to model anything. :D

I submitted my Three Worlds Escher image, luckily by post on a CD, as they E Mailed me today, to say that a load of images they had on one of their servers had 'got lost'... They were asking for those unfortunates to post them again. Luckily I decided against trying to upload over 30Mbs of data as I'm still using a modem.
As for the image getting accepted, well you never know, and never can tell. Truthfully I won't be surprised either way. I've had full page front covers that have generated very little interest or comment elsewhere- I think different partrs of the world and different cultures are possibly looking for different things in 'art'.

JamesMK, I've been looking at some of your AlienWare stuff- its very impressive indeed. I love the way you work- very ceative indeed! You are certainly squeezing some very original work out of c4d, both in content and look.

Martin Kay - Thanks! That means a lot coming from you (seriously). I saw your Escher (again) while browsing through the thumbnails last week or something - it is truly excellent, and the fact that the original drawing by M.C.E. himself is one of my absolute favourites makes it even more interesting. If those responsible for selecting the final works appreciate that particular kind of images, I'd be rather surprised if they didn't include it.
