View Full Version : Modeling & Texturing Demo Reel
busha 01-30-2004, 12:25 AM I just finished putting together my demo reel. I'm looking to get a job modeling and texturing props, characters, and sets. If anybody can help me tweak my reel to look as best as possible, I'd greatly apprectiate your comments and suggestions. Thanks!

Nice reel
Are those enviroments actually 3d? If yes, why do you only show stills?
What exactly should that "game development" part at the end be? IMO it does not belong in this reel.
The animation part is a bit weak. The first scene when some characters "walk" through the scene was over before I realised what happened, I guess you did not animate the legs, but it would be better if you would see the whole character in the center of the screen.
Minor point: I'm not too keen about the music, it's a bit sad, it might be ok with the models at the beginning, but your cartoon characters could need something else
Anyway, solid reel overall.

Nice sketch to Model comparision!
The colors for your models are very appealing and your artwork is nice to look at.
I think you should show wire on shaded instead of the non-textured ones.
I'd like to see more animation, but the music makes everything feel slow and sleepy.

heeeyyy nice reel. im a fellow VA 3d guy who happened to be looking through demoreels to get a sense of what makes a good one. Yours is one of the ones that stood out. It's pretty strong stuff, and I was really impressed by the overall mood and feel of the reel.
Anyway, I saw you were from fredericksburg; I've from northern va, finishing up at VCU in richmond, and I've spent a bit of time in frederickburg here and there(mostly at MWC). Shoot me an email sometime, it's always good to know there are other people in this state interested in 3d; we seem to be few and far between!
