View Full Version : how to create heat haze?
peach4at 01-30-2004, 12:09 AM i almost finished my latest picture and want to add some heat haze but have no clue how. does anybody have advice for me? any reference/tutorials etc. is very appreciated! i use photoshop and 3dmax.

Well, normally I think this would be done with a displacement map of fire or smoke using After Effects or something.
Alternatively you could use this (http://www.the3dstudio.com/(wfj4hu55h3gcmgblczlnotfe)/tutorials.aspx?id_tutorial=108) cheesy bullet-time/trail tutorial to create the heat haze you are looking for. It's better suited for creating heat haze than a bullet trail if you ask me. :)
