Hey folks,

Here are my final renders for this Trophy project i'm doing. Main goal for the project was to capture realism in 4 different renders of 4 different floors.

Done with Maya 5.0 Educational Version. These were all Maya's Software Render. Built with a combination of specularity maps and bump maps.

Render Time for each image is estimated at 5 minutes.

looks pretty good, but I think the bump value on the floor is a bit too strong on the last two pics.

I somewhat agree with you for the third picture. I had a toss up with a lower value on that one against a smaller value and the higher value just had a better feel. Although I disagree with what you said about the 4th one. It's actually how I wanted the wood to look. I wanted something not perfect and yet gives me that feeling of a really cabin like bumpy wood table type of stuff..hehehehe..

nice highlights. HDR?
As JasonA mentioned, the bump mapping is too pronounced. Lower it a bit or use displacement mapping.

The shadows could possibly be brightened-up a bit. Nice work though, especially without use of mental ray.

Thanks,

HDR images look nasty when rendered on default render. I actually used an environment cube to fake the hdri somewhat. Lik ei was saying, I did test out 2 different scenes of it with lower bump...and I was more content with these...
