I have a question about modeling. When do you decide to just parent a object to another one instead of adding detail to attach it? I that if a part is going to be moving it should be parented instead of added but what about none moving parts that would make you have to add alot of detail before you could attach it. Should you just parent instead or use a combine? What are the advantages/disadvantages to parenting a object instead of creating the extra detail and attaching it? Would the thinking be different if the model was for a game instead of film? I mean should all non moving parts of a came model be put together? I was thinking about a car model I made a few days I go I guess the doors should be parented because the open and close but all of the rest of it should be one object is this right? I know so many questions to ask but I'm just a noob trying to learn :) .

sometimes you will use parent for instance
you have charachter and you have shoes just parent them no need to combine them and merge vertces......

and something for organic modeling for instance you will use the combine and merge verteces coz u wanna the the 2 object-before combine-- to be and really 1 piece and if u use parent for shoe you don't have to care about continiouty as combine to have good defromation:)

I hope you understand something....

Sorry for my english:rolleyes:
