image creating a selection of polygons like bandsaw does. one line of polygons until there are no more polys (or they split up in a strange way). uv spider can create an uv map for one chain of polys. unfortunately, not for several chains of polys :annoyed:

Another example could be UV'ing a road that twists and turns and maybe has a loop. Select the first polygon on the road, select UV Spider, enter a name for the UV, choose odd/even and which direction it should map ( U or V ). Hit ok and if you've set up one of the viewports to UV texture view you should see the results at once. Although I find I have to undo and experiment with the various odd/even, U/V options before I get the results I want.

To put it another way. UV spider can take a twisty, turny, loopy, bendy, continous strip of polygons and UV map them.
