lets see if u guys can think somthing aout!

magic cube

please help me!!!!!! I am modeling one of those cube of colors where there is to equal all the different colors from the faces i think that are called (magic cube) well my problem is that one of the faces of the cube turns in the central axis of the cube 90 degrees and soon turns the perpendicular face of same the problem is that not with himself the form to rotate the buckets that already were turned the first time since whenever i put the degrees of rotation and frame fraim are begun in the wished position and finishes in the position you wish but does not make the trajectory i wish____if any one nows what i am talking abaout please help me__

you have 27 Cube objects all set together to make up a rubic's cube.

Each of their OBJECT AXIS need to be centered on the main cube for it to rotate properly.

thks grey but that the way i am doing it!

like it looks down in the file a attach!?

all the axis are in the center of the object! in the first move it work but wen i make the 2 move it dosent looks good of course if the first position and the last position it looks fine but in the time is going from the first position to the second position it makes moves all crazy al arround ths cube! but wen is finifsh it ends in the position y whant !!!!

the problems begins wen i am making the second moviment!

thks!! and pleae help me!?>?1.

Bek, it doesn't look that way at all. All the object axises should be stet to the exact same coordinates, and each of the objects, when you have the object button on, should read position 0,0,0. I just tested my theory and it works perfectly.

send me your test please!!!!!

and sendme your email so i can send u my work and you will see what i am doing !

all the axis in the first frame are in the same position but wen you rotate a face of the cube the axis dont move but the rotatet and wen u rotate other side of the cube ware are some cube from the first side the axias are all change no move but rotate!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, let me see if this is your problem. When you make the first rotation, everything is ok, but when you make the second rotation that is when to problem happens.

From your picture it looks like the problem might lie in the 'interpolation of the keyframes'. Basically when you move from one key frame to the next, the computer often likes to make the movement smooth, but what happens is that the object does not move the way you want it to. So to fix it, look at the curves of the keyframes and make sure they are linear or 'straight lines'. This might fix the movement of the cubes, but the timing will be stiff.

But let us not worry about that right now, try that, and lets see what happens.

FXG, his objexts that are going astray aren't rotating on the center of the entire structure, as they should be.

If yhou look at the ones he's got circled, they're rotating around the center of what's already rotating, as if they're parented to something and the center has moved.

When rotating any of these, all their centers should be at the exact same coordinates, then all will rotate exactly as they should... it's just a matter of getting them to rotate together.

It's not the animation work that's not working, it's the settup.

FYI I beleve the problem is due to how Cinema handles rotations, (BVH) the problem is also called Gimble Lock

So yes even with all the axes at (0,0,0) when you rotate & then add a second & third rotation, the BVH (?) method of handling rotations dose not work as expected. That is why you need to place your parts in null objects.

no, don't parent them to anything... this is a simple animation job, parenting anything to anything else is only going to complicate matters.

I count only 15 object that get rotated to 90 degrees each time.

If you still cant work it out try tech support at Maxon for an answer :)

Maybe what is happening is that when you rotate one area the normals are fine, but as soon as you rotate the next area it is because the normals now clash and you get the nasty frame 5?

Hey bek. Do you think someone´s gonna even try help you, if you have an attitude like that? Go rotate your cube elsewhere.
