View Full Version : particle effects, bluescreen compositing which one better?
sebek27 01-28-2004, 01:48 PM i might be purchasing either After Effects or Combustion in the next few months and was wondering which one is easier to setup and has options for creating great particle effects like snow, explotions, rain etc and also adding 3d models to live action video ? i'm leaning towards combustion, but the demo keeps crashing on me AE is more stable, is there a patch for combustion 3 that fixes the crashing ? thx

Even though AFX is a great application and I still use it on many occasions I would rather go with Combustion if given the choice.
For particle effects C* wins hands down.

What about Boris FX for AE? I've always wondered about this plug-in? Anyone ever use it?

I would also go with Combustion as the step over to Flame and those other higher-end tools would be a lot easier to make compared to if you were to use AE. At least that's what I have been told.
