Basically the Vampire Monkey is out of the Coffin and stretching himself- ready for a bit of 'air boxing' :p

How can i improve?

Save Target As

I think i need help on how to sort out the boxing bit, i can't get it to be more snappy, ideas would really be appreciated...

Very good, very fluid movements, i like it, the only thing i would perhaps try: longer holds when he stretches back, specially on the last one, mayb try holding him for another 3 frames or so.
It seems you're using Max, mayb u should try Michael Comet's SuperLag script to automaticly animate the tail, very easy to set up, it works nicely and will save u a lot of work.

Hope it helped,

Cheers

The motion was really quite awsome, and I liked how you avoided a lot of symetry. I was slightly confused with some of the acting choices, I didnt read the description before I watched it, so I was a little confused, but after I read it I can totally see him pulling a rockey with the eggs and stuff. Also there are a few frames at the end where the right arm is completely stationary, adding a little moving hold would help the ending a lot. Also at the beginning during the anticipation for the first stretch I would like to see some of the great motion on the torso that is prevalent throughout the rest of the animation. All in all you did a great job, keep up the sweet work.

Thanks Very Much Gru, I need all the encouragement i can get, people keep telling me i should be a modeler, but animation is my love, so cheers... and i will look into the stretching-
i have heard of that script, and thought it was the same as spline IK with spring controllers, what's the difference? because i'm not actually animating the tail.

Check it out on micheals page http://www.comet-cartoons.com/toons/maxscript.cfm
I tried it once on sum cartoon dog and it was quite impressive, it does all the secondary motion and overlaping. theres some exemples on his site, maybe on your case you want to try the more riggid setup.
Worth a try, believe me.

cheers and good luck

Thanks Icehouse, i'm hoping that with the character and morph targets will help it make more apparent that he is stretching himself,
but after I read it I can totally see him pulling a rockey with the eggs and stuff lol i like that!!

Thanks for the link Gru, Just got it and will give it a try,
