CGTalk - USB vs. Parallel

well after taking a look at different versions of LW at newtek's HP and in the student corner ...i've recognized that there are several versions ....usb and parallel ....what's up with this?

sorry for this n00b Q but i just want to figure out such things before buying it :cool:

I know what 7.5 ships with USB plug for Mac and PC the same one.
