'bout time. If it doesn't get best picture and best vfx, at least, then somebody at the academy is high on crack.

I was hoping Sean Astin was going to get the nod for Best Actor. Too bad! After seeing RotK, it really is apparent who carried the movie in performance. Sean was fantastic!
At least Cruise wasn't nominated (hehe!);)
(Supermax, was it an orgasm or just a build up of earwax leaking out your ear?:p )

Its no wonder that the lotr has received so many nominations.
I wonder how many it may win?
But anyways congratulations Peter Jackson:applause:

What ROTK definitely should win:
Costume Design: THe whole thing has ONLY costumes in it and they are flawless. What more do you want?
Makeup: Same as above, not to mention the Uruk-hai.
Music (score): Howard Shore crafted the perfect soundtrack. I especially like The Steward of Gondor, with Billy Boyd.
Music (song): I don't like Annie Lenox, but this song is very good.
Best Picture: No brainer
Sound: The battle of Pelennor fields was carried by the sound, and it sure didn't hurt the rest of the movie either.
Visual Effects: Gollum was tight, not to mention that the whole of Pellenor Fields was CGed together from different shots, or just entirely CGed.
Writing (Adapted Screenplay): Faithful to the story as much as a three hour watering down can keep it. Brought Tolkien's world to life, and thats, why it should win.
And Sean Austin really should have gotten a nomination for best supporting actor. He deserves it.

hmm, nothing for Acting.
Signal to Noise, it was an ear orgasm that pushed the wax out. :)
Heard the movie much clearer after that!

Well, only Sean Austin really deserved a nod for the acting. Nobody else was really stellar.
Hell, was it just me or was Aragorn's accent all over the place throughout the film?

It's a shame Sean Astin didn't get a best supporting nomination... although I'd equally have liked Andy Serkis/Gollum to get one. That would have been a milestone indeed.

True, Serkis does actually deserve it as Gollum was played perfectly. However, this is a bit to far for the tightwad academy. They wouldn't do this till half the characters were being CGed.
