I have recently been having trouble with Adobe Premier Pro, it wont load or install or repair. Don't know why.

The error it gives me is the following:

"Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any valid editing modes. Please re-install and restart Adobe Premiere Pro"

did what it said about 3 times now, still nothing now.
when i load it, it stops working after loading reverb6.dll plugin.
but in the task manager it is there loaded using 40mb ram but nothing is displayed.

I have:

windows XP
P2 800
20gb
512ram
Gforce 4 ti4200

it has worked before, earlier, now when i need to use again, nothing. Tried installing it on another drive but still didn't work, and i deleted the preferences, but still nothing.

your help would be most appreciated.

you uninstalled before re-installing?

try deleting the reverb6.dll
maybe there is a problem with that plugin...

hmmmm... have you emailed Adobe?

I researched their site and the only solution I could find was actually this:

6. Reformat the hard disk, and reinstall only Windows and Adobe Premiere Pro.

http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/31b82.htm

Hope you find a solution before it comes to that.

yeh uninstalled, then re-installed, restarted, repaired...nothing working, i only need to make a small tweak to my project. pity.

saw that, reformat drive, no thankyou.

i think i'll try deleting the plug-in.
also is there a way to use the saved file projects from Pro to an older version.

i'll email tech support, see what they say.

dont think you can open pro files in earlier versions, but if you have AE6, you could open it in that.

also, did you export an avi or anything before you were having problems?
if so you could just open that file in whatever vid prog you want and make your tweaks

hehe, thanks mate, you too~

of course, even if you get it done in another program, you will probably want to get premiere working again one day...

ive been using premiere too, but i dont really like it. so im trying to find a new video app. but there doesnt seem to be much around. vegas is ok, but has some limitations...

i really wanna use the flame etc systems on sgi... hehe

anyway, try delete or just move that plugin to the desktop. If it doesnt work just move it back.
but it might fix it up

maybe even try to move all the plugins to a temp folder and see if it changes anything

will do, thanks for the help.

you don't like premiere, i think its pretty good, using it for a while , can't compare it much though just previous versions, and this one is so much bettr than earlier versions of Premiere.

but not at the moment.

i'll try everything possible to bring breath back to premiere, probably a good punch to the side of the machine should do it :D

still not working, tried moving the file kiri, but then it just showed reverb2.dll and gave an error.
its whatever is after that, which i am sure is the actual program itself, because in the task manager its there.

uninstalled other Adobe programs, tried installing it in safe mode, but still nothing.

dunno, got me beat.

got it working,
uninstalled all the codec packs i had on.

K-lite codec pack
Nimo codec pack
and bink and smacker
and XVid and Divx

basically whatever codec i had on and it worked fine, then re-installed them back on and whamo it worked.
