View Full Version : subD after polE?
erwin1978 06-26-2002, 02:50 PM So basically, after modelling with polygons, you convert it to subD before doing the final render?
Does this also apply with nurbs modelling? Since I heard, animating a patch model can result in seams breaking up. The solution is to convert to polygons and merge the edges together.

Max User????
Cracking can occur in tight areas.
This could be a valid approach It is much more common these days to work on a subdivision model as you are going. and turn up the resolution for a render. I Guess it would be possible to convert a patch/nurbs model this way - just make sure you minimise the patch resolution before you convert and expect to do some tweeking after.
