i don't seem to be able to use bake texture in any mode except composite. trying to bake just the colour, or just the bump results in a solid black texture on a white background. i want to be able to bake noise and colour into the channels individually and then paint on them to alter them.

user error? or has anyone else seen this problem.

(i'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the uvw map--just made a sphere, and let paint wizard unwrap it.)

thanks.

osx, 8.5 and BP2--but i'm pretty sure i had this problem with the earlier versions of baker and c4d as well. (maybe there's a pref somewhere that's corrupted?)

help.

Have you checked the diffuse box?

thanks for the response, adam.

yeah, for purposes of testing, i've got all the options checked to try and render a color channel. here's what i get:

if i choose composite, instead of color, here's what i get. as far as i can make out from the manual, if i only have one texture tag on an object, these two should be the same (?).
