I heard that it allows users to create ridiculously authentic "Pon de River" motions with a click of the mouse.

I don't know what version you are using but I think it starts with 2.0. you can control winamp 2.x through Diva's scripting language. Only winamp 2 though. You just use it like a system command and say:

winamp "stop";
winamp "play";
winamp "pause";
winamp "ff";
winamp "rw";
winamp "prev";
winamp "next";

it's almost useful!

Twidup, if you dont mind me asking, and if you can talk about it.. what exactly did diva save your ass doing, while working on gollum?

been using Diva since, I think it was version 1.4, about 2 years ago.

On ROTK, several of the crack of doom sequences and some of the shelob's cave shots were captured during principal photography during pickups this year.

David Bawel and I set up the pipeline to get the mocap data, into the Giant mocap system pipeline from the Motion Analysis capture system. All the data was mapped from markers to skeleton using Diva. Diva's scripting language allowed me to customize the solving and fine tune it more than other commercial mapping packages.

Being able to customize was a huge asset, as was the speed of interaction I had with it. The fact that I could quickly and easily add to the functionality with a few scripts was great. most other packages limit how you can expand it.

Motion capture during shelob's cave shots? For who? shelob looked like the kind of thing you would want to animate by hand.

the part where right after Frodo is chased by shelob the first time and then is attacked by Gollum.
