So. Here´s an eternal, maybe neverending, project of mine (done entirely in Cinema 6.3). What do you, fellows, think of it? Should something be changed? Suggestions, please..

mebbe the color? ;)

great bike dude, I can't really see any flaws whatsoëver, exept for the wheels being kinda too smooth, u should roughen it up a bit, rest is exellent!

(6.3 aint got no radiosity does it?:D )

Very very nice

That has to be a lot of polys. :)

I think the problem is that the mapping on the tyre does not seem to conform to its shape, making it look flat.

Check the shadows- its too bright. Also a lightening could be better. Try some 3 point light (Key Back and Feel) or even GI.

Great model, good chrome effect
Keep it up.

Thanks for the tips, mates.

j00st: Youre not the only one complainin´... hmmm.. maybe it´s a bit feminine.. well, that can be changed

kiwi: Just checked, not more than 26000. You´re right about them treads looking flat, have to fix those.

Eugeny: Lighting is not my strength. Could you give me some more advice on it please?

Stunning stuff.

Now that is the showroom model, and now lets see the the two year old model. My colleague next to me (the bike man as he is called), suggest the back needs some work. It is a bit too square and could do with some streamling. But he says most real bikes look like that anyway.

The glass on the front light needs to be more visible.

Other than that , well done dude.

BTW, would love to see it animated on a showroom turntable... (or a dusty highway... :D)

Tkay maybe blue would look better {your call :) }....blue would look more moody :)

As for the lighting try making all your lights omnis and see if it makes the lighting more soft.

For a color change if you are using 7 just use the bodinut hue and sat shader and experiment.

I am a bike man myself,I used to ride a 1200 sportster.

Ok. Some little tweaks (not to treads yet), color change and a little fiddling with lighting..

Any better?

Nice! Nice! Nice!
Mach better

Only two things: still lighting (i wil send u some preset scene of three point lights with radiosity), and tires - its too black.

Eugeny:

I would also appreciate the file with three point lighting and radiosity.... If it isn't too much trouble.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey Eugeny! That would be very nice of you, thanks! :) It seems very hard to get them correct and a little help wouldn´t hurt...

Ok here the test render (sorry guys i dont have better bike - this one from LightWave content) :)

Eugeny

And sthe Cinema fiile - its too big even after compression so i split this to three files and add .zip extension (becouse a valid extension for this forum is .zip). So to open this files first delete the .zip extension and unrur.

tkay - dont be confused from my bike just delete him and put youtr ( u will need to skale your bike for size of mi)- if u like the ligting on this scene.

U can turn OFF radiocity for faster render, and change shadow type from area to soft or hard.
Good luck, wanna see some test.
Bdw. sorry for my bed english :)

The second rur

Eugeny

And the last one.
Bdw. if u work on Mac i think that Stuffit delux will decompress this files ( u still need to delete .zip extension) if not just tell me i'll stuffit it.

Tkay that bike is looking excellent

If you want to go a bit mad on texturing I would add a brush metal texture to the front disc, with a slight ring bump to show some machined areas :)

Good on ya Eugeny

very cool modelling. texture is fine and kiwi is right, too.
the lighting...yeah, could use some adjustment. post it in the maxoncomputer.com gallery - i'm sure they will include it!

Eugeny: Thanks, mate! I will test your setup and post the result asap.

Kiwi: You´re so right. The surface on those brakediscs is way too clean. Have to figure out something. Thanks!

Sad: I just don´t dare yet.. Maybe when i get the Second Edition done or fiddle with this one for about one more year...

tkay brushed metal in a bitmap app is as easy adding noise {monochromatic} then select horizontal blur and crank the sucker right up,and the end result should look like brushed metal. If you dont get the effect you want and you have Photoshop yell and I will make you an action and post it here :)

Front discs usually also have concentric rings or grooves, usually a couple running around the inside...hmmm actually my Harley didnt it just had wear and tear rings, but I think most quick road bikes do have the grooves,I am assuming for cooling.

For grime I absolutley love the Dirty nutts shader.........man there goes another one of those strange shader names again :hmm:
