i am going to be purchasing the Soyo Ultra Dragon P4X400 Platinum and it supports 400/533 FSB. I thought Hyperthreading only works with 800fsb ?? can someone share some light on this, will I be able to run HT on this motherboard and if so with which P4 processor ?

The 3.06 Pentium IV has support for hyperthreading on a 533 FSB.

Why don't you just buy a newer motherboard? Seems kinda of silly to buy one thats already out of date.

The i865 intel chip supports 400/533 AND 800 FSB chips.

Waste of money IMO to buy outdated technology when the new stuff is just a bit more money.

thanks Greg, can you recommend any motherboards ? the only reason i like the Soyo is because I can get a cool ATX case with power supply and the motherboard all for $99

Any i865 or i875 chipset will support an 800 fsb.

The link above is the various soyo motherboards (since you seem to like soyo).

Didn't you stop to wonder why?... Soyo is the lowest of the low and to buy an old motherboard made by them isn't a good idea at all.

If you buy a crap motherboard, you will have a crap computer, if you're going to scrimp of a part of any machine, don't do it to the foundations.
