when i'm trying to use the brige tool to bridge 4 points into a polygon. (4 sided one) it automatically makes it into a triange when i click the 3rd point. and then i can't include the 4th point in the polygon. i hope i made it clear as to what i'm talking about.

if you want to bridge points then you select just the outer points.....e g, you bridge the topleft with the bottomleft and then the topright with the bottomright then the result's a 4sided poly....

by the way F1 is your best friend....

Don't use the Bridgetool for creating polygones... use the Create Polygon tool.. ;) Klick all 4 Point and that's it...

But that takes twice as many clicks and is hard to do several at a time, at least for me. Why are there two that do almost the same thing...

bridge is more intended for bridging complee polygons while creat polygon does just that, create polygons. I use creat polygon all the time, I constantly dlete tris and replace with quads and such. Try to keep even my highres models optimised.

Well lost my last reply to a crash, but I personaly really never use create polygon, bridge is fast and easy, of course box modeling is even nicer, but for organics sometimes it's just not a smart choice.

bifftannen - make sure triangulate if ness. is not checked as well.

I use freehand/invert for selecting, for optimiztion; triangulate, swap diagnals (where needed), flatten and untriangulate. Also Stitch and sew can be used to collapse polies.

Extrude edge + knife is by far the fastest way to create polies.

Shortcuts most used : enter (poly to point), I (invert sel.) B (bridge) k (knife) and + ,- grow/shrink sel. Here's a grab of poly/point menus' Hopes this helps you on your way bifftannen

see you,
