CGTalk - Projecting with light?

Hi there.

Is there a way of projecting a bitmap into a surface using a light, like a common movie projector?

I'm almost sure i did it once, but i can't figure it out now!
I can project an alpha map but not a color image.

Any clues?

Not sure what you mean about the bump map.
Can you explain or give me an example?
