View Full Version : First C4d Model - Frog
manfriday 01-23-2004, 07:51 PM I have modeled before (believe it or not), but this is the fellow I am learning the c4d "ropes" on.
I still need to texture him and then rig/animate him.
Im gonna try to recreate a quick scene from braveheart.
The kilt-lifting scene. ;)

well i did laugh out loud, so you're definitely onto something.
to me he still looks a bit like he's built of rings of horizontal polys. hard to explain.. all his bulges run around him at ninety deg to the ground. also his hands and feet look small to me.

No, I totaly understand what you mean, and you are correct. I dont think I have start spinning any polys to adjust the flow of him. I just started extruding things out of a box and kep going. Perhaps a little refinment is in order. :)
thanks man, I totaly appreciate crits. I need them. heh.

Hey, I wish I could do something like your frog, I need a lot of experience, but thats not the subject of my post...
The cloth material looks kinda realistic to me, yeah, and I had to laugh too... so, you cant be on the wrong way!
Keep on goin,
Flo

Ahhh. that was me being stupid. I meant I dont think I have started spinning polys, and that I need to in order to adjust the flow.
I dont know where that other sentance came from. heh.

Thanks mate. I just used a basic kilt-like texture and then used procedurals for a bump map and a diffuse map.
I still need to experiment some more. Im really pretty lousy at texturing.

so much to learn!

Anyway, I tried to make some adjustments to him based on some of your crits.
If you dont mind, let me know what you think.
Maybe he's worse now, i dunno. heh.

And don't worry Flingster, he wont be too rough on the English. :)
I had planned on giving him the blue face paint, and thanks for the idea about the sporaan. IM definatly gonna make one for him.
That and a claymore. :)
