Im not sure what i should upgrade right now. Basicly I want to upgrade one component of my computer, so please let me know what you think will give me the biggest performance increase.

Here are my current specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
768 MB PC2100 DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 AIW PRO (450/650)
80 GB 5400RPM 2Mb Cache Hard drive
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
FIC 6A6LVF0D Mother Board with VIA KT266/A chipset
400W Powersupply

I was thinking either upgrade the motherboard, or put a new hard drive in.

I should also note i have around $200 dollars to spend.

Replacing the Harddrive with a 7200 rpm, 8 meg cache variant.

A western digital WD800JB would do nicely, and is realtively inexpensive.

Clone your old drive to the new one, and remove the old drive from your computer completely. (Don't chain a slow hd to a fast one, it'll just slow everything down).

If your experiencing stability issues, or want a better sound solution, you could also upgrade to a Nforce2 + Soundstorm motherboard.

This would also extend your upgradability route.
